A World of Weather: Sample Laboratory Questions

PHILOSOPHY OF THE THOUGHT AND LABORATORY QUESTIONS

The questions at the end of each chapter are organized into "Questions for Thought" (also known as "Applying Your Knowledge" questions), "Questions for Laboratory," and "Questions for Review," in that order. The Thought and Laboratory questions are intended to make the students think, to provoke them, to demonstrate to them how meteorology touches their daily lives. Often, students will be challenged to apply what they've learned to meteorological situations not addressed in the text, rather than simply regurgitate material. We make overwhelming use of real data. Commonly, students are given weather data, asked to analyze some variable or variables, and then make some conclusions based on their analysis.
