Submitting written work

All written assignments should be turned in as Word files by emailing to rx7@psu.edu. The message subject must contain the number 310. As usual, always keep backups of your work.

If you will be using a non-Mac pseudo-computer and/or word processing software other than MS Word, please send a message to rx7@psu.edu to that effect immediately. Even if you use another type of computer, you will still have to find a way to email a Mac-compatible file.

Only one file per assignment; this means that all illustrations must be pasted into the Word file. Where illustrations from journal articles or other published sources are included, use the scanner to digitize them and then edit them in Adobe Photoshop before pasting them into your Word file.

If you submit more than one file, all will be discarded except the one submitted closest to the due time, on the on-time side. Midnight of the due date is the deadline.

Your files must have these names (no caps!!!):

yourlastname.current

yourlastname.background

yourlastname.review

yourlastname.analysis

yourlastname.proposal

yourlastname.editing

All files with other names will be discarded.

Important:

Before submitting the literature review report near the middle of the semester, it must be reviewed by Mr. Joe Schall, the EMS College Technical Writing Tutor (224 Hosler Bldg., 863-6077; schall@ems.psu.edu). He will critique your work and make suggestions for corrections. This should help you produce a more finished product (read as: "get a better grade").

Call or email Mr. Schall and make an appointment with him. The scheduling of your appointment with him must be done before the class meeting on 17 February. Do not make an appointment for Thursday or Friday before the paper due date.

Papers which have not been reviewed by Mr. Schall will not be accepted.

Format for the top of any submitted file:

Graded papers will emailed back to you.
